"Thanks for this and for having an affordable and easy to use solution, which utilizes the new Auracast technology. We are a congregation of about 750 members and just prior to 2020 we made some significant technological updates to our historic Meetinghouse (built in 1895 and expanded in 1966). Parts of our upgrades were to include monitors, which allows us to offer live-captioning for those who have a hard time hearing. We pride ourselves on being open and welcoming to all and part of that offer comes in making sure our service is accessible for those with special needs.

About 150 people attend our Sunday morning 10 am worship services. I am very interested in the Auracast technology and the way it easily communicates with multiple hearing aid users (at least those with the newer models). As far as I know, 3 users are currently using the direct to hearing aid devices. We have one young girl with cochlear implants and the system works seamlessly with her implants. Nobody currently uses the headphones. Our older members have never adopted this technology. We’ve had this type of assisted device for years and nobody consistently chooses to use it.

Our experience has been great and the feedback I’ve received has been very positive. The system is intuitive and easy to use.

Attached are some photos of the Meetinghouse and our tech booth where the transmitter is located. The transmitter easily covers the entire worship space."

"Our space is for 180 with 30 in attendance. We decided primarily because of the 100% guarantee and freedom to test and explore 2 use their hearing aids and one with headphones. Feedback has exceeded everyone's expectations with significant gratefulness."

"We set up the system at our church and were able to plug it directly into our sound desk. One of our older members tried it and said it helped her hear better. We’re still encouraging more people to test it, but the system has already shown real value for church listening."

Auracast™ Assistive Listening FAQ

1. What are the benefits of Auracast™ compared to traditional assistive listening systems?

Auracast™ assistive listening is a next-generation open platform designed for the next 20 years of hearing accessibility. Unlike traditional closed systems, it allows churches and venues to start small and expand anytime without replacing the entire system.

  • BYOD support
  • Easy setup and expansion
  • Works with hearing aids, headphones, earbuds, and speakers
  • Lower long-term device maintenance
  • Future-ready Bluetooth standard adopted by major brands
2. What’s the range of your system?

We offer different transmitters and systems designed for different venue sizes and coverage needs. Range specifications are listed on each product page.

Because Auracast™ is based on Bluetooth LE Audio, actual range depends on line of sight, building structure, Wi-Fi congestion, and other environmental conditions. In real-world church and venue deployments, coverage is usually not a concern when the proper transmitter is selected.

3. Which hearing aids support Auracast™?

Many newer hearing aids now support Auracast™, and the number continues to grow rapidly.

You can view our updated compatibility list here: Auracast Compatibility Checker.

Major hearing aid brands are gradually adding Auracast™ support through new models and firmware updates.

4. What if I do not have Auracast™ hearing aids?

No problem. You can still use the system in several simple ways.

  • Auracast™ receivers with your preferred wired headphones
  • Wireless Auracast™ headphones
  • Neckband or open-ear listening devices
  • Future AuraCoil receivers for Telecoil-compatible hearing aids

Most solutions are designed to be plug-and-play: turn on, connect, and listen.

5. Can I use my own Bluetooth headphones or AirPods?

Yes. More Bluetooth headphones and earbuds now support Auracast™, especially newer Android and Samsung devices.

For users whose headphones do not support Auracast™ directly — including many iPhone and AirPods users — our Aura C adapter can enable Auracast listening through existing headphones.

  • AirPods
  • Bose QC35
  • Sony headphones
  • Wired headphones

6. How do we support overflow rooms, nursery, kitchen, or fellowship areas?

Because Auracast™ is an open wireless platform, audio can easily be expanded throughout the building without running long audio cables.

  • Wireless speakers in overflow rooms
  • Separate listening zones
  • Nursery or kitchen audio feeds
  • Additional assistive listening areas

This makes it easy to add more areas later as your church grows.

7. Can I start small and expand later?

Absolutely. This is one of the biggest advantages of Auracast™ systems.

Many churches begin with one transmitter, a few receivers, and small listening coverage. Later, they can easily expand by adding more receivers, additional listening areas, wireless speakers, or multiple audio channels — without replacing the original system.

8. Can we encourage members to bring their own devices?

Yes — and this is one of the most powerful long-term benefits of Auracast™.

Members can use devices they already use every day, including hearing aids, earbuds, Bluetooth headphones, and phones with Auracast™ support.

This reduces the number of devices the church needs to maintain, sanitize, charge, and replace.

9. Are there any limitations or concerns we should know about?

Like all wireless audio technologies, Auracast™ introduces a small audio delay — typically around 50–70ms.

In most environments this is not noticeable. However, listeners sitting very close to wired loudspeakers may hear a slight echo between the live room sound and the wireless audio.

  • Sit farther from main loudspeakers when possible
  • Use over-ear headphones for best isolation
  • Place assistive listening seating slightly away from stage speakers
10. Can we have multiple channels for different languages or groups?

Yes. Multiple Auracast™ broadcasts can operate within the same church or venue.

  • Different language translations
  • Audio description channels
  • Overflow room feeds
  • Private staff communications

Broadcasts can also be custom named, organized by room or language, and encrypted for private listening groups when needed.
