Why speech was hard to follow
The church told us that hard walls made speech hard to understand. This was most important during the spoken parts of a service, when every word of the sermon and prayers mattered.
The church has about 150 people at a Sunday service. One sound system had to support people with different hearing needs without changing the service for everyone else.
A direct signal from the church mixer
The team connected an Oasis Aura transmitter to the church mixer. It took the clean service audio and sent it as an Auracast broadcast inside the church.
This gave listeners a direct sound option. They did not have to depend only on the sound moving through the room. The trial ran from January 2 to June 9, 2026, so the church could test the setup during real services.
People chose how they listened
One member used an AuraClip receiver with a neckloop. Other people listened with headphones. A member with new Auracast hearing aids connected to the same broadcast without using a separate receiver.
This was useful because the church did not need one listening device for every person. Each member could use the option that worked best for them while hearing the same church audio.
Results from real church services
On January 25, Roy reported that one church member could understand the sermon and prayers for the first time. The member used AuraClip with a neckloop during the service.
The trial continued as more people tried the system. By June 1, an older member had connected new Auracast hearing aids to the same broadcast.
The member using new hearing aids was “extremely happy.”
What this trial showed
The Trinity Church story shows a simple path: start with clean mixer audio, send it by Auracast, and let each person choose a receiver, headphones, a neckloop, or compatible hearing aids.
The result was not about adding more volume to the room. It was about giving people a clearer way to hear the service.
