Customer story
Making worship more accessible at First Congregational Church of Greenwich
The church combines live captioning and Auracast listening to help more people take part in Sunday services inside its historic Meetinghouse.
An open and welcoming congregation
The congregation has about 750 members, with around 150 people attending the Sunday morning service. Its Meetinghouse was built in 1895 and expanded in 1966. The church has continued updating the space to make worship more accessible.
Supporting different hearing needs
Existing monitors provide live captioning for people who have difficulty hearing. The church also wanted a simple way to deliver clear service audio to people using newer hearing aids and cochlear implants.
Direct listening with AuraPlex M3
The AuraPlex M3 transmitter is located in the technical booth and covers the entire worship space. Compatible listeners can receive the Auracast broadcast directly on their own devices.
Positive real-world use
Three people are currently using direct-to-hearing-aid listening. The system also works seamlessly with one young attendee’s cochlear implants. The church reports very positive feedback and describes the system as intuitive and easy to use.
