Customer story

A more personal way to hear waiting room TV

At Doss Audiology & Hearing Center in Schertz, Texas, waiting room television is also an opportunity to experience Auracast. Patients with compatible hearing aids can listen directly and personalize their listening experience.

Making television easier to enjoy

The clinic described a familiar challenge: patients with hearing loss often find it difficult to enjoy television in public spaces, especially when there is background noise. Offering a direct listening option brings the television audio to compatible hearing aids.

Clear sound, with personal control

Patients especially appreciate what the clinic calls “crystal clear sound quality,” together with control over volume and settings through their hearing aid companion app. In its submission, the clinic rated all four areas—range, sound clarity, ease of use and usefulness—as “Very good.”

Helping patients find the broadcast

A sign beneath the television introduces the service and names the broadcast “Doss Audiology Waiting Room.” It guides patients to open the Auracast assistant on a compatible phone or hearing device, find the broadcast and select it. A compatible Auracast receiving device is required.

An introduction to listening beyond the clinic

Doss Audiology confirmed that both its Schertz and Floresville clinics have Avantree Auracast transmitters available in their waiting rooms. The experience introduces patients to how Auracast can be used in other public spaces. The team also hopes to donate transmitters to local churches and medical offices and help educate the public; this is a future ambition, rather than a completed rollout.

A familiar waiting room becomes a practical introduction to more accessible public listening.
